FRIDAY NIGHT IS AN AUDIENCE CHRISTMAS COSTUME CONTEST! There's a prize!
Last night was our night for the Free Theater event. 20 free tickets we donated were snatched up by people who probably never would've paid to see us but were curious. We had a big house and our most 'on fire' performance yet. We were supposed to read this script the Free Theater people provided for the House Speech, but instead a skit was performed with the director blabbering about theatRE and actors interrupting to 'head to the bar to get a drink' or 'leaving to go to work' and blurting out 'fuck off!' to him.

Audience reactions: My co-worker's friend who's seen all 3 said 'this one wasn't like the other two at all'...in a good way! :-) Another friend's friend said 'we're going to be addicted to this show!' and requested more musical/dance numbers in the next ep. Oh, and someone said I was a lot taller as 'Anna Rexia'. (side note there):-)
Someone bought me a shot afterwards and I ended up home w/ some fast food and an episode of Battlestar Galactica that I think I've seen before, but wasn't quite sure. It was called '33', but I don't know why. The episode was fast and I'm not sure what the overall point was. It's too early, I guess, for me to tell why this is 'the best drama on TV!' just yet. The cylon robots are cool. Everyone rubbed this picture but I couldn't make out what it was. Someone joked that someone was a cylon, which she is, coz I read an article that said she was, but doesn't know it. I love the Drag Queen Cylon, with her blond bob and skeletal collar-bones-as-weapons. She was described in an article as 'shoulder bladey', I think was the expression. I wish someone would call ME that!
Speaking of Anna Rexia, have you heard the new term 'emorexic'? It's the beyond-skinny hipster boys who wear the pencil jeans their poor girlfriends can't physically fit into! Too bad Anna is over her emo/indie/hipster phase and is now just attracted to mainstream gay guys. (either way she gets to keep her virginity)
Comic books: Black Canary has officially left Birds of Prey for t/JLA! But, Huntress is staying...and they're going to put out a Huntress: Year One next year! I'm so nerdy-happy 'bout that! I still own the whole charcoal pencil smeared series from the late 80s, where she had punk hair and killed all her enemies. I was all 'am I still drunk?' when I saw a little reproduction of the old artwork (it used a special shading board to give it a grimy look). It'll have a new artist and I'm sure they'll re-write her mob back story AGAIN, but I'll take it!
