INTERNET PIRATES IN CEDAR CITY Y'ALL!!!!
well, here i am, 6,000 feet above sea level, a thousand or so miles from home, and sitting outside a best western with my roommate as we steal wireless internet from the best western we are cowering behind. life is good.
so yeah, i'm at the old shakespeare fest. to recap, cory's visit was hella cool, leaving marianna and new york and nyu and all my friends behind was devestating, my last day in the valley was lots of fun, and yesterday was pretty sucky. 13 hours of travel, 5 of it in layovers, starting at 7am eastern. yuck. myself and all my stuff made it safely here though, and i'm moved into my seriously sweet apartment with two super cool utah shakes (that's what the cool kids are calling it, apparently) veterans. since i've been, i haven't done much except unpack, and today i started with orientation type stuff. i had a big meeting with everyone in the festival, they talked us through procedure and housekeeping and whatnot, i went to a fitting where almost every conceivable part of me was measured and noted down (no, not that, you perverts) and sat in on a readthrough of Romeo and Juliet (i'm understudying one of Mercutio's gang, hopefully that will include me learning the sick fight choreography). i'm not sure what my schedule is for the rest of the week, but according to my roomies (mike and dan) i don't have a rehearsal or a performance before 1:00 pm for the rest of the summer, which is incredibly sweet. i imagine i'll have a big old readthrough of faustus and then a big old read through of camelot. maybe they'll make me sing. who knows? not i.
what i do know is that it's a little nipply here in the old desert, so i'm going to abandon this delicious free internet for now and head inside.
according to the hair and makeup people, i have the biggest head circumfrence they have ever seen (26") and that my hair is, in fact, LIGHT BROWN and not blonde as marianna so staunchly and adorably insists. : D
