sbeenawhile, eh?
i'll try to lay down a summary of my activities so all you kids out there have some idea what i do every day:
intro to theatre studies: 9:30 am monday wednesday. erissa is in my group for presentations which is fun. the class is going to be kinda lame but our teacher is smokin hot. woohoo!
writing the essay: at times infuriating, at times invigorating, all times annoying. homework constantly, revisions revisions revisions, with my bitter, gay musical theatre lyricist instructor
studio: wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwow. my teachers are phenomonal human beings. to explain everything i'm doing and learning would take eons and i'm only 2 weeks in. i'll lay down the specific classes though:
adler technique: sit in the room, doing amazing adler exercises. very very very inspiring
voice and speech: lots of diction and breathing work, going to come in really handy
movement: one day of movement (spinning around, terrible stretches on the floor) one day of ideo kinesis (amazing massage action)
shakespeare: memorize and read and study all bill's stuff. very cool
scene study: we're getting placed in duo scenes that we will work on and perform in class. SO EXCITING : D
character: an amazing old woman named betsy teaches us how to be amazingly good actors. and she's hilarious.
ballet: last class of the week. so far no dancing, but lots of painful floor exercises. wooooo?
i've been going to the gym with alex hawthorn about 5 times a week, we are staples at the indoor climbing gym and getting pretty good at the ol sport, we also lift and kill our abs in the auxillary gym in fun male bonding mode. or we're just dating. i really can't tell.
dorm life is very fun. greg, tj, travis and i have lots of fun. arthur is never here, so we have less fun with him, because...he's not here. yeah.
friday and saturday nights are usually spent out with friends or hanging out in the dorm, just doing nothing and enjoying not having classes.
weekends are great as well. free time is amazing.
i'll be coming home either the first or second weekend in october to see "forum". after that, probably not again until thanksgiving. it's actually hard to imagine not being here. my room is comfortable and i have no real complaints so i've become pretty well adjusted. i miss the fam, i miss people i haven't seen in a while, but i realize we'll all find ourselves together again at one time or another.
HEAR YE HEAR YE: VISIT ME!!!! : D weekdays are almost impossible but if you're in town, you best give me a call (5705741786) or drop me an email (clt258@nyu.edu) so i can show you around the village
hope this finds everyone well ( :
