The Dissolve round-up for April 2015

Apr 27, 2015 17:00

As I hoped would happen, The Dissolve has continued to employ me as a freelancer, even assigning me my first new release (Broken Horses, pictured). All of the reviews I've filed so far can be found here, but I'll also be doing a monthly roundup. Here's how April shook out:

April 6: The Beat Generation (Charles Haas, 1959) -- one-and-a-half stars -- and What Did You Do in the War, Daddy? (Blake Edwards, 1966) -- four stars

April 9: Broken Horses (Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 2015) -- one star

April 27: Cooley High (Michael Schultz, 1975) -- four stars, Essential Retro

As a bonus, my review of Broken Horses means I'm now on Rotten Tomatoes. I've arrived, baby!
