Took me long enough to get around to watching the previous two episodes (before the mid-season hiatus), but I'm well-prepared for its return on the 20th. Fantastic series. It's the kind of show where almost anything can happen, and there's enough stuff seeded in the early episodes to make me believe that the writers actually have a plan. (Whether they do or not is immaterial, only my belief in them.) Also, the location "titles" are very well done. I liked them from the start, and I like them more now. A minor detail in comparison to the scripting, but they're stylish and effective.
When I say "almost anything can happen," I of course don't mean that in the gonzo sense, though that's fun too. Part of the premise of the show is the possibility of crazy super-science lunacy, but done in as realistic a manner as one could hope for. The "passing through solid matter" bit, f'rinstance, has distinct limits and side effects. It kind of reminds me of the Mirror Universe Star Trek episodes, in the sense that the Normal Rules don't seem to apply. Not that we've had, I dunno, deaths of major cast members yet or anything. But I wouldn't put it past them.
Lost returns the day after, and that's also awesome. I swear, this summer, I'm going to rewatch the entire series thus far. Been meaning to do that since, um, two summers ago.
