I almost smashed up my car. But luckily for me my brakes, reactions and front bumper were all functioning! A deer ran in front of me on the way home from a concert last night. I clocked the deer going about 5-10 miles an hour and it flew off my hood and landed in the ditch. Lucky I had seen it in time to jam on the brakes and my wheels didn't lock up too bad. (no ABS) the deer flew about 10 ft and landed in the ditch with enough force to kick up dust but it leaped up and jumped over a fence so it's safe to say it was still alive. I drive alot at night and this is the first deer a I have hit so for a theater designer and self described night person it's surpriseing how well I'm doing on car deer accidents.
