I did maybe. This is not my first attempt though, just my realization that it is just not my forte.

Cooking is not difficult. You must have deviated from the instructions, otherwise the result would not have been poor.

Maybe I did? I couldn't quite taste it either way, since it was burnt to a crisp. oops.

You must have left it in the apparatus (oven, frying pan, pot, etc) for longer than the recommended amount of time. That is easily rectifiable.

Aa. Unfortunately, it always seems to happen with me.
Even though the times that I have been successful at not burning it, the taste wasn't all that great. Hmm.

Basic cooking is not a matter of talent, but a matter of following instruction.
If you like, I can provide you with simpler instructions for a meal than a cookbook might supply.

Though one can always follow simple instructions, extrapolating from them requires talent of which I do not seem to possess. In turn, I will stick to basic cooking for now.
Oh~ I would be more than grateful for that, Tezuka ♥!

What were you trying to cook that went so awry? If I know how to make it, I will provide a more detailed recipe.

I saw a recipe on Top Chef TV last night for Crispy Pan-Fried Shrimp and decided to try my hand at it.
As you already know, it didn't quite go as planned.

I see. Would that be breaded and fried shrimp?

I found a viable recipe and added detail where I think the recipe requires better guidance. Expect an email within the next fifteen minutes.
