Why do I love Pugs so? Honestly, I'm not sure. Except that a very early memory I have of my grandmother is that she gave me a tiny puppy. Ming Toy. My first Pug. She and my mom picked me up from the bus stop and back in those days, no one cared if a kid leaned over the front seat. I leaned over and my Grandmother's scarf was beside her and moving. Underneath was a tiny puppy. A tiny Pug puppy.
Unless my memory is scrambled, it was a Pug before Ming Toy that we lost to lead poisoning. She got a hold of a metal jack stone I left out. She was just a pup and it was too much. Sigh. To this day, I have never owned a set of jacks. Wouldn't let the kids have them when they lived here. That was nearly 40 years ago.
Still, Ming Toy was mine. She lived to a ripe old age of 15 or so if I recall. Hop Sing was her brother (step brother?) Again, lady_autumnstar might remember better as she was older than I at the time.
I love Pugs. I love their snorting, their snoring. Their stubborness. Their velvety ears. :)
