"Okay, I know that taking a break around New Year's seems insane, but you guys have earned it," Jessica announced. "We've been at this for three months and we've just about tramped out the massive gang warfare--"
"Even though Serpent Skull leadership is still out there somewhere," Miles added.
"-- Yes. We've brought in a psycho vigilante serial killer in the Scourge--"
"Who's going on trial in a couple weeks, so we need to be rested up before that happens," Ty interrupted.
"--Sure. We've busted up so many Roxxon offshoots--"
"Including one that turned a cop into kind of a zombie guy that we found in the sewers," Tandy added.
"And stopped the experiments going on down there, too. Yeah."
"And not to mention, we saved the world from a multi-dimension space god who wanted to eat us," Kitty offered.
"Yes," Jessica agreed. "And some of us have lost our homes or loved ones, and Lana is still off grieving. All in all, New York can survive a few days without the Ultimates. I made a few calls and some part-time superheroes will be covering our expected hotspots."
"You made me call them because I'm the one who knows all of them," Kitty pointed out.
"You used my phone. Almost the same thing," Jessica recovered. "So, go off. Do your things. Enjoy a few days off. Feel free to use this place even if I'm out of town. Meet back here on Saturday morning to get started on a new year of our crazy, crazy lives."
