"You failed on the mission, Drew. You're going to want to stay clear."
"I did my job, Castle," Jessica said. Here she was, alone with Frank Castle - the Punisher - in one of Nick Fury's safe houses. The rest of the Howling Commandos were elsewhere, just like Fury promised. "Fury told me it wasn't a kill mission."
"Fury told you what you wanted to hear so you'd sign up," Castle said. "That's his favorite recruiting tool."
"That's not what he told me to get me to sign up," Jessica said as she pulled her jacket off. "Peter Parker was the closest thing I have to family."
"... That's why it's so quiet here," Castle said. "I'll give you the first shot. After that, it's --" He couldn't say anything else due to the webbing on his mouth.
"Hush," Jessica said before webbing his feet to the floor and his hands to his sides. "We're not fighting. I'm not killing you. If I wanted to, I could do it so easily, and I want you to remember that, Frankie. But I've given it a lot of thought and I'm just not that kind of person."
Jessica walked over to Castle and put an arm on his shoulder, leaning against him casually, just to piss him off some more. "You see, Frank, I have issues, but they're really not the same as your issues. I'm not a sociopath. I'm a problem-solver, not a problem-spree-killer. And I really don't want to be a member of any club that would have you as a member."
"I understand what Fury's doing here. What Fury's doing with you. I don't approve - at all - but I'm part of a big military thing and sometimes that means people are going to kill people. I accept that," Jessica said. "But I'm not going to be a part of it. And the second I find out that you're hurt a single person you weren't supposed to, we're going to continue this conversation. Got it?"
Castle didn't respond since, well he couldn't.
"That's what I like to hear," Jessica said, slapping him in the back with a precise blow to mess up his spine a little. Just because she wasn't going to kill didn't mean she wasn't going to make his life hell and eventually make him get surgery. "Glad we could have this chat. Do me a favor and let Fury know that I'm declining the job offer, okay? Thanks, buddy!"
Jessica walked out of the safe house, pulled her mask on, and swung away on a web.
