A fancy restaurant, Manhattan, NYC, Saturday night

Nov 30, 2013 14:32

This kind of restaurant was generally outside or Jessica's price range. Wearing a nice dress to a fancy restaurant was definitely out of her comfort zone, but she had to look like she belonged if she was going to do this. And it really wasn't like her to just walk up to an older man, flash a smile, and ask, "Is this seat taken?"

The man gave her a confused look. He was clearly just trying to have some dinner and didn't expect company. It looked like he recognized Jessica from somewhere that he couldn't quite place. "It's a free country," he said cautiously. He glanced around the room quickly and seemed confident when some very large men started to change their positions slightly.

"Ha. Good one," Jessica said, sitting down. "Wait, that was a joke coming from you, right? I'm assuming it was."

"Is it going to be one of these things?" the man sighed. "Cut to the chase. I don't even know who you are. What is this about?"

"That's fair. You're busy. I can't help but be a little disappointed that I didn't make more of an impression before, since you've tried to have me captured and/or killed," Jessica said. "But I'm sure you'll recognize my name. I'm Jessica Drew. Nice to finally meet you face to face, Mr Roxxon."

"Security!" Roxxon shouted. In seconds, a dozen tasers carried by large men were trained on Jessica. "The Peter Parker clone. We haven't heard from you in some time. I was starting to think somebody else took care of you."

"Mind if I call you Phil? I'm gonna do it anyway, but I figure it's polite to ask. Anyway, sorry I've been out of touch, Phil, but I've been preoccupied up until recently," Jessica said. "But recent events have made it clear that you're too dangerous to ignore."

"I can be even more dangerous if you don't drop this right now, Agent Drew," Jessica said. "You don't know who my friends are these days."

"Yeah. I do, actually. And all that means for you is that when I bring your company - your name - crashing to the ground, you better believe I'm going to have you dead to rights," Jessica said, leaning in for emphasis. "I'll have proof. I'll arrest you by the book. And I'll make sure that the public knows everything so that they can be just as disgusted with you as I am. All of this is coming down, Mr Roxxon. It's just a matter of time now."

"Then why don't we handle this right now? Security, you heard her! She wants me dead!" Roxxon called out.

By the time the first taser probes were in the air, Jessica had ducked under the table and kicked it up to block the wires. She followed through, rolling back into a handspring so she could kick off of the flying table, throwing herself past several more taser wires.

As soon as she landed, she launched into another pair of twisting flips toward the exit. "I'll be in touch, Phil!" she called out before walking out the front door.

And now she was going to head straight to the Triskelion to file a report about the incident with personal security guards when she went out to a nice post-Thanksgiving dinner. Like she said, by the book. Or at least close to the book.

[OOC: NFB due to distance. Interaction via text or calls is possible, if you want, but I'll be on major SP for the next many hours. It's a travel home from vacation day!]
