I bet some combination of beads and wire would work for the guns, etc. on the Dalek. You could thread seed beads or bugle beads on the wire to make the stalks, then use larger beads or small buttons for the plunger/eye.

ooh, I hadn't thought of seed beads + wire - great suggestion! I saw some grommet things in the scrapbook section at the craft store that would work well for the base of the laser/gun, then I could twist up some wire for the sticky-outy part
