Tardis colour question?

Oct 30, 2011 10:24

I'm making something with coloured card paper but I'm curious (after doing a quick 'net search)

Is there a colour difference between Ten's TARDIS and Eleven's TARDIS? Because it looks like Eleven's TARDIS is a slightly lighter/brighter blue than Ten's?

Any help most appreciated, thanks :)

*phew* I'm SO happy to hear that Eleven's is the lighter brighter blue *LOL* ;)
I started my project without even thinking about the colour difference *d'oh*
I had two different cardpaper colours, lighter royal blue and darker navy blue and I just chose the lighter colour at random :)
I'm so glad I picked the right blue :D

Yep, 9/10's TARDIS was much more weathered, and I think it was actually meant to look a bit scorched in places as well, to show it had been through the wars. It's been a while since I read that, so I can't give you a link for the source, but 11's was definitely repainted to a lighter and less weathered shade of blue. It's also been modified in a couple of other ways. You can see a brief history of TARDIS designs at this website: http://www.themindrobber.co.uk/tardis-police-box.html

Oh wow, thank you so much for this site! I made a few mistakes on the exterior of the TARDIS and now I can fix them *yay* :D
