I was thinking they might be--they're definitely too long for me to wear, but might be just right for her. Just in case though, I have jewelry pliers/loop maker and jewelry cutters in a bag with a bunch of jump rings in case I have to shorten them.
very beautiful and simple :) i think you've chosen some great colors to go together. the pink and the pearl are simple, and elegant, but the rich purple adds a great spark to the earrings. i don't think they're too long, i think the length you've chosen suits this sort of earring :)

line up the loops on the headpins on some of the pearl dangles.
now the look like the cut end overlaps.. it should light up and touch.. :-)
just re-align and squish with a jewelers flat pliers (or a protected regular pliers - to keep the pliers from marring the metal) and also make the loops flat to the rest of the head-pin... some of them look kinda / tilted.

yeah, there's the whole wacky "science" to bending headpins. Not that most folks would notice... BUT if she has long hair, the dangles will be less likley to grab the strands.
