Yesterday was a pretty long day, but it was a good day and I got a lot accomplished. John and I went up to Mott to get his financial aid straightened out. First we headed on down to the financial aid office and the guy informed us that we would need to have our 2004 taxes with us. He was able to tell us how much John would be getting though and advised us to see a counselor to set up which classes he should take this semester.
We headed right up to the conseling office and spoke to a counselor who not only got John's classes set up on the days that he wanted them, but he also set up the classes that I wanted on the same days as John's. John ended up being able to take the forensics class that I wanted to take as one of his required electives so we both have that class together now which is really great. He also has Math 160, English 101, and a computer class. I have French 2 aslo and Religious Worldviews.
We ran back home after that so we could get the taxes printed out and get some money from grandma since you have to pay for your classes within two business days of registering for them. Grandma not only gave me the money for mine, but also the seventy dollars that John's Pell Grant wouldn't cover of his courses so we were really excited about that.
After we made it back up to the school we found out that we didn't need the taxes at all and that they guy we had previously spoken to was stupid or some such thing. It was okay though because they applied his financial aid right there and now we just have to go back on Monday to write them out a check for the rest.
After all of that fun stuff we had dinner at the Halo Burger on Saginaw Street because John has always wanted to eat there ever since he first saw it. It's really cool looking inside with the cathedral ceilings and all of the decorative work. Writer's Club was next on the agenda once we finished eating and John decided to stay for that. It turned out that Melodie brought someone new also and the whole thing was much more lively than usual. We actually ran out of time for people to read which never happens.
That's pretty much my whole update. I'm heading off to work in just a little bit and I'm sure that will be terribly not fun since it is nearly Christmas and I am closing until eleven. I still feel a little sick and this cough just won't go away. It's hanging onto my chest like crazy but it's getting a little bit better day by day so hopefully I will have gotten over it by Christmas.
Have a good day everyone!
