So we've been hearing about the Nintendo Revolution for a while now. Lots of talk about the new controller, it looked like Nintendo was either going to crash and burn or take large chunks of the market from Sony and Microsoft. I thought they were going to do well, I think the new controller is an awesome innovation, and if they can make a few good games specifically for the system an not just try to port things to it, it would be great. But today I found out that Revolution, which always sounded like a cool name for the system, was just the project codename. The official name is the Nintendo Wii(sounds like the word "we", as in "you and I" apparently). It sounds really stupid to me, and while I understand that Nintendo's trying to get ahold of the people who aren't gamers and turn them on to the idea of video games, they've always had a reputation of being the kid's gaming machine, and I don't think that the new name's goign to help keep from alienating hardcore gamers.
