I need to buy a new computer.  I will be keeping the desktop I have now.  Just for the sake of keeping it.  I still use it.  But I need something faster.  The one I have now has fulfilled it's use with me and I need something faster.  I'm looking to buy a Laptop.  One that has LOTS of memory, has fast downloading speed and that I can watch movies

That's the laptop that Devin and I have and I can't recommend it enough: it's fast, has a dvd/cd burner/player, slots for cards, usb slots, etc. Basically everything you're looking for. The price tag is a little hefty, but with their 1-2 year payment plans is easily affordable. With the extended warranty we signed up for, we pay about $80/month for it.

get a mac and than use bootcamp to install windows 7 (the release candidate is free until later this year). Or if you don't want to dick around with that shit, get a netbook and upgrade your desktop hardware.
