Manifest Destiny
I have about two weeks left in Florida. Then I make the grand migration west. Manifest destiny, was originally a term used for expansion of the US to western territories. I read that it was termed both manifest (obvious) and destiny (inevitable). Although I plan on my migration being 100% less destructive to both buffalo and indian a like, Portland feels like the obvious and inevitable choice for me. It is such a liberal welcoming environment for someone like me. The scenery of the west coast is beautiful. That said I won't miss Florida, but I will miss the people here (meaning my friends, not Floridian's in general) as well as the opportunity to see people returning home for visits.
