I HAVE A PHONE NUMBER AND AN ADDRESS ヽ(´▽`)/ send me shit

Room 406

Kyoto, Japan

that's country code included, no additional research required unless you live somewhere that isn't the u.s. or canada. actually I would recommend not texting me because international text rates are universally exorbitant, but hey if you are really bent on it go ahead!

my phone is one of those huge japanese flip phones in a particularly masculine shade of iridescent pink. I have named it bubba.

also I have some pictures for you! they are more tourist-type pictures than domestic because I don't have a micro sd card reader (yet) so I can't transfer the ones I've taken with my camera to my laptop but I do have the ones taken with my friend's digital camera. they're of a couple of places we visited last weekend. hopefully I'll be able to show you guys my room and the college campus sometime in the next few days, depending on whether I am successful at finding an electronics store.

shittily resized in ms paint because it didn't occur to me to do it in photoshop on my larger laptop before I left. oops

the street that leads to an area with a shitload of shops! it is also where we all got our phones, which was incidentally a

don't get your panties in a twist t&bros they're everywhere

we also ate dinner at a teppanyaki restaurant, where I had okonomiyaki and yakisoba for the first time, as well as this interesting black sesame ice cream. they were all really good.

okonomiyaki!

the next day we visited an art gallery and a shrine that were right next to each other.

there was a huge torii in front of the shrine.

REALLY FUCKING HUGE

rickshaws: still a thing! I would never be able to ride one, though, I'd feel terrible for the person pulling.

shrine entrance.

close-ups!

that is me with the awful touristy dragon shirt, everything else was dirty ok

the best ema

and then we walked around the shrine garden, which was gorgeous.

this one got flipped because imgur is a butt

sigh

this was a place in the middle of the walk where you could get tea and cake and look out over the lake. it was really nice, especially since it was really muggy that day.

my friend also took a panoramic shot of the lake from the bridge, which I am linking because it is very large.

there was a shinto wedding going on when we visited! we snuck a photo haha don't worry we didn't like sneak up on them like creepers, the camera just had a good zoom function.

so yeah hopefully I'll have a chance to do some more sightseeing and will have more pictures to show you!

fabulous japan adventures
