Dear People Who Make MoodThemes and Use My Instructions,

Do me a favour. You know that I have no problem with you linking to my instructions post or using my instructions in your own post, but please remember to put the adminconsolescode.txt file in your zip. When you don't, I get comments asking where it is, as though I made the theme myself. You put hours into making your mood theme, so just take 30 seconds and include the file in your zip file before you upload it.

The file you need to include is here. Right-click and save the file, or you'll be led to it on a webpage, and then you won't be able to save it. But before you add it to your zip, check two things:

1) Is the file format right? I save all my mood themes as .jpg, but if yours is saved as .gif, do a find/replace to replace the .jpg to .gif. Otherwise anyone who tries to use my admin console codes with your .gif theme will just get broken images, and then I get the questions.

2) Change the "80 40" to whatever the widthxheight is on your mood theme. Do NOT skip this step. I tell everyone to check that the width and height in their codes is correct before uploading, but most people don't. If they don't, your nice mood theme that looks like this for you:

Could end up looking like this on someone's lj:

Or worse, this:

Why is this? It's because LJ doesn't care what size your mood theme actually is, all it cares about is the size that you tell it in your codes. Save yourself some cringing when you see your work looking like crap and double-check that the numbers at the end of each line in the admin console are correct.

If you have any questions about uploading your own theme, please don't hesitate to ask. If anyone would like a step-by-step tutorial on how to upload your theme, just let me know.
