Still a little ow.

Well, survived the plague. Sorta, at least. I got sick on Friday, by Tuesday I wasn’t feeling any better so I made a doctor’s appointment for Wednesday. The doc said I didn’t have strep, but he prescribed vicodin. I filled the prescription, but I haven’t really used it. Nice to have around, though. Thursday and Friday I wasn’t really fever-y any more, but still felt a little too cruddy to be up for everything that was on my plate, so I worked from home and played catch-up. And I was coughing really, really badly, it just sounded nasty. And I know I always hate being in the same office as someone who sounds like that, so I figured I’d spare my coworkers.

This weekend my choir buddy Brenda invited us and some other friends out to her family’s beach cabin out on Key Peninsula. It was a really, really great time. Lots of relaxing, sunshine, good company, good food. Chewy came with us, and had a big smile all weekend. He even went in the water deeper than I’ve ever seen him intentionally go, he got up to his tummy without dying, but wasn’t willing to go any deeper. He wasn’t freaking out or whining or anything though, his tail even wagged, he just knew his limits. The tide was really low, and it was a really gently sloping beach, so we could get out pretty far and still just be up to our knees. And there were geoduck necks sticking up everywhere, it was crazy. But now the pup is all tuckered out, and so are we. And tomorrow is Monday, and back to work. My throat still hurts, but I can ward off the worst of it and most of the coughing with judicious application of Tylenol. Of course, that means we’ve pretty much run out, but I think I’ll hit Costco tomorrow, so then we’ll be totally set.
