Summary: John Cho and Chris Pine work at an entertainment magazine. Fresh out of the closet after a bad divorce, John braves New York's gay dating scene with Chris' special brand of encouragement. After a few Craigslist disasters, John meets Zach Quinto, who seems like John's polar opposite but may be his perfect match after all.
Notes: This is just one of those happy-making romantic comedy type fics that will leave you smiling. John is adorable, funny, a little insecure, and very real. I loved his relationships with Zach (hot and sweet!) and Chris (his obnoxious but lovable best friend), and the background Chris/Karl made me flail happily as well.

Summary: In the chaos of the Great War, Zach is a medic in a camp hospital in Soissons, France. When he meets an American soldier named Chris with a gunshot wound, both their lives change.
Notes: (Historical AU) Completely heartbreaking, well-written, and beautifully gritty, this is one of the most emotionally honest fics I've read in a long time. Fair warning-- don't start reading it unless you can finish it in one sitting, and keep a box of tissues handy.
