Stories Have Endings, Fantasies Fade by
sunriseinspace (Jocelyn McCoy/Leonard McCoy, eventual Jocelyn/Clay, PG-13, ~9,000 words)
Summary: She buries her face in her arms, trying to shut out the heartbreak she can already see coming.
Notes: This is one of the best stories I've read about the McCoys' marriage, both the happy and not-so-happy parts of it. All of the characters are sympathetic and interesting here, even Clay -- who is a real sweetheart. A sad and nuanced portrayal of a marriage.
Morning Finds You Still Warm And Breathing by
thistlerose (Spock/Uhura, Adult, 3000)
Summary: She can't say what she needs, but he gives it to her anyway.
Notes: A beautiful look into the aftermath of the film's events from Uhura's viewpoint. Refreshing and different to see a story where she's the one who needs comfort from Spock, even if she hasn't lost as much as he has.
