*Regulus takes his hands away from rubbing his face to rid it of the agony of the past four hours. The agony remains.*

It's a home, Barty, not a... den of monsters.

Monsters need homes too. Where do you think they go when they aren't in their dens.

I hadn't considered where monsters go to have their tea, really, I've had other things on my mind.

*The hallways in the Higgs house are as curious as its doors, which open and close automatically like some horror film castle, creaking and protesting as they go. Indeed, nothing in the house seems fully open, though the roofs are high and the rooms expansive, there's a mysteriously claustrophobic quality to it.

However, Barty has paid no heed to this, nor the way every resident of the manor, down to the house elf, carries around with them a ring of keys everywhere they go. He hadn't even paid heed to the way the door fifty paces back had shut behind them and clicked. No, he only begins to pay attention now, as they approach yet another door at the other end of the hallway - one that refuses to open on its own accord.

Barty's voice tapers off as he gets a hair's width away from the still-closed door.*
