Hi, I'm unbidden_truth and I'll be driving the van for the next month. Hopefully timing works out on my end this time around unlike the previous month. Why this must be read:
For the gorgeous, dark writing and refreshing take on canon.
It is always interesting to read different takes on canon, especially when there are nods to the larger Arthurian legend and takes the canon in a completely different direction. Which is exactly what this fic does and by doing so, the legend and the canon both take on a different meaning by the choices Nimueh makes. Nimueh is out for revenge, but in a handful of words the author conveys loss and change through time (and in this case for the worse). There are wonderful details and the push and pull of Nimueh's past with Uther and Yvgraine adds an extra layer. Lovely fic, but please heed warnings especially about the dub-con.
