Why this must be read: When I learned that KakaIru was one of the biggest ships in early Naruto fandom, I couldn't understand where it came from. Well, aside from the fact that Kakshi and Iruka are the first two pretty adults in a canon overrun with children. (Ohhhh.) This series is remarkable for exploring their one interaction in early canon and using it to build a logical and romantic relationship.
