Why this must be read:

Long-lived franchises have delighted fans forever, and in between the cracks of Fabulous Source Material, Spin Offs, Filmed Versions, Novelizations-of-the-Movie, Television Versions and Ice Show Versions, fall the little bits that we love all the more because they show true imagination. Coming from the early prequel novel The Approaching Storm, Jedi Master Luminara Unduli's Padawan, Barriss Offee, is approximately Anakin Skywalker's age, and they share a camaraderie in the book that has given rise to some ficcage. Coming from the more recent Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated TV show, Barriss approaches Anakin's Padawan's age, she and Ahsoka being approximately 15 and it is in this reality that the story occurs. From the friendship we see in the TV program, themacunleashed reveals a very special relationship between the two girls as they fight a war in which they should not have to shoulder responsibilities. So who can blame them if they want to escape and go clubbing? Not I. It's poignant and very much in character with the established TV canon.
