How do you make Generation Kill even gayer? By adding wrestling, of course! To keep the enlisted guys occupied during downtime, officers decide to have the guys wrestle. Brad gets pissy, Nate gets bossy and challenges him, and Brad has an entirely typical reaction to that. Also to Nate. As he does. templemarker is fantastic at writing Nate as the badass he is, a little sharp, a little dangerous, and that's reflected here. Full of biting wit, neither of the guys gives an inch. And holy hell, the insanely hot tension between them. Did I mention wrestling? JFC.
"I hear you're having trouble with single-opponent combat, Sergeant," Fick said, arms crossed loosely over his chest.
"If by trouble you mean the men like to relive their playground experience on my tall, manly, frame, then yes sir I am."
Fick's smile got incrementally wider, and Brad's hands twitched involuntarily at his sides. There were some days when what he wanted got the better of him; it looked like this was going to be one of those days.
