Hi! Thank you too for coming over to help me out! It's very much appreciated, even more so if you sacrificed your hard earned break from work for this °_0
The thing about Bilbo having a color - and you've got a point with Saruman, I didn't think of that because I only know AUJ, and nothing else from Tolkien ^_^" - is that he goes through a regeneration cycle. As such, he is not always a Hobbit... And not to diss Dwarves or Men, but they don't have a very strong bond to nature/Yavanna, do they? Which is why I wanted Bilbo to be truly neutral... In that way, it's a pity that gray is already in use for Gandalf...
And Bilbo himself is not after power or trying to break ties or anything. He is simply more preoccupied with the microcosm he belongs to in each life, instead of focused on the greater good, like Gandalf... Him being neutral wouldn't mean he is in danger to go dark side... Hm...
Anyway - Tharkun is indeed Khuzdul and means "staff-man" or "gray-man", according to Tolkien Gateway :) And since I was just there - Olorin means "dream/vision of mind."
It did help a great degree! Meanwhile, I was out searching too, and I found a little list of my own (but it's 'only' Sindarin, especially Khuzdul has me totally stumped):
Belegur - Great Heart Thangur - True Heart
- those two don't really pick up the themes I was thinking of, but they fit Bilbo, character-wise, very well...
Arrad - without a path Haeron - far, remote, distant Erist - lone lore
- seems 'neutral' enough, and in a way, being constantly reborn like that, he's 'all over the place' if that makes sense...
Thurin - hidden, secret
Uhm, any thoughts? Sorry for this rambling reply ^_^" And thank you for coming back with Khuzdul help, too! :)
