"One more round before I leave," Keikoku had said in such a way that it wasn't a request or even really a demand. Shinrei should have protested. It was nearly midnight and someone always ended up injured in their little matches and Keikoku was just so annoying and…

And he might never return. Going into the outside world to spy on Demon Eyes Kyo was dangerous business, especially for someone of Keikoku's "mental prowess." It was with this in mind that Shinrei went out to meet his brother, knowing that this might be the last time he ever saw him. He was surprised to see him without his armor for once or his sword. Before Shinrei could ask him what was going on, Keikoku tossed something at him, which he quickly caught. It was a small knife in a leather sheathe, a little too plain to be a Mibu creation.

Brandishing a similar knife, Keikoku unsheathed his and went into a fighting stance. "I wanted to try something a little different. You don't mind, do you?" Of course Shinrei did, but he could hear the taunt in the other's words and wasn't going to let himself back down. He started to unsheathe his weapon only to find Keikoku at his throat. "Too slow."

The point was digging in slightly, not enough to draw blood, but just enough to sting. "You bastard. You said you wanted a round." Who was he to question Keikoku's reasoning though? His brother, who could never really be his brother, had always been a strange, sadistic little prick that seemed to move with very little rhyme or reason.

Keikoku's free hand pulled the knife from Shinrei's hand. "I changed my mind. Besides, I thought you needed a lesson." Shinrei would have laughed at him, except Keikoku's face had one of those rare, serious looks, almost as if he was about to impart brotherly advice. It made Shinrei want scream that he knew they were related. "You're too soft."
