More giggery...
So I did take today off in the end. I'm glad I did becasue I was totally fucking knackered after QOTSA then work and then the gig last night. I was so tired I fell asleep watching my new Faith No More Live in Colonge '97 DVD that I bought off eBay!!
Anyway Llebpmac Drahcir and myself bowled daahn to Angel last night to see Jimmy Chamberlain Complex at the Islington Academy... well thats what I thought but actually it was in the Bar Academy upstairs (fucking Cock Party were playing downstairs). It must be about 3/4 the size of Coopers main (obviously the roof isn't as high) but it was soo cool seeing them in such an intimate venue. I would guess that there were about 50 or so people there (I mean we've played to about that many people!!!). They played most of the album which conists of a strange kind of jazz rock fusion (with much whacking off in the middle of songs)... but seriously, there is something about standing so close to a drummer of Jimmy's power and talent that it is just immensely captivating. I had a dumb fucking grin on my face the entire night! They also played a Pink Floyd song methinks (cannae remember the title) especially for the 'London fans'. Fucking awe-inspiring it was.
Its weird. I mean I've not posted in a bazillion years cos I have a pretty boring existence with the same problems and anxieties that I've always had but just recentley I've been to these two great gigs and they've made me realise what it is about music that I love so much and why it totally drives everything I do and exactly how much I can love it. It makes me remember the good stuff in my life too instead of concentrating on dealing with the bad.
I have Bad Religion on Monday and some others later in the year incl Dandy Warhols so... :D
Anyway, I have to go gym and write and pratice and buy and converse and sort so as to justify taking today off work.
