i went to a friend's 18th yesterday. it was at a penthouse in the rocks and basically the person celebrating pretty much invited everyone in this damn state. i saw people from primary school that recognised me, and these fourteen tweenyboppers who were about twelve that were taking full advantage of the wet bar and shaking their asses around me ( Read more... )

It's so weird how advanced young teens have gotten in terms of the way they dance. It's like dry sex.

It's also very sad. At 12 I was out playing hide & seek and other games, lol. Kids grow up far too fast these days!

Exactly! When you were 12 you didn't speak foul (well barely, anyway), you didn't use underwear as an excuse for shorts in public, etc etc ... lol it kind of discourages me, if I have kids by the time they're seven when I try to hug them after taking them to school, they'll push me away and go 'Ew mum, I am so over that, ew ew, you totally ruined my make-up'

Lol, I still don't speak like that and I'm not a fan of the shooooort shorts! Kids. :(

My nieces better not be like that, but they're good kids...I don't think they will be. Hopefully. :(

A 7 year old wearing make-up...wow. Times sure are a'changin'

rofl It's the tween dream generation that supposedly brought back the short shorts and double pierced ears and all that. I think I was probably being cranky because all I ever see these days are them. When you're young you want to be older, and you want to look older - but you were only given opportunity to look your own age.
Lol if you spend enough time with your nieces, they're practically BOUND to idolise you anyway (it's a knack - you take after the cool aunts) so if you're not a prima donna, they'll probably turn out great. But tween idols, watch out. How old are your nieces? With the Olsen twins leading this pack of kids, check out Lourdes, Madonna's daughter ... she'll be the princess of the kids of 2010
