Cable never found the time to delve in depth into certain subjects, failed Mutant Messiahs being high on that list.

Magneto is of course skewing things in his direction and by his experiences, but he has more to say on this subject. There will probably be a Part 2: Teaching Through (Bad) Example and maybe even a Part 3: Surviving as the Next Great Hope, but I need to see more canon Hope first.

Friend away! I enjoy writing fanfic when I feel I can do justice to the voices.

Definitely looking forward to those, but we do need some more canon Hope so we know a bit more of what she's like when she's not just meeting people and reacting to things.

Your theory works, and I can imagine Cable glossing over a lot of history in favor of more practical lessons and skills, but what a wasted opportunity. I may show my nerdy colors in that if I had a time machine, I would immediately begin making notes for the most perfect and earth-shattering history book ever.

The third option, not changing people or their power, but the bonds between them and the places they live, never occurred to him. And probably never should occur to him, he came out of the Holocaust with a massive case of survivor's guilt, and the sure knowledge that human nature determines the world. He's forever looking at individuals.

Oh, he's got some pretty strong opinions on blood law.

Wow, another thing I've never considered. Erik clearly has some respect for legal systems, (he's submitted himself to justice before, US, Israeli, and the World Court), so what kind of legal systems does he think actually work? Did he implement them in Genosha?

(Man, I'll never forgive Morrison for just blotting Genosha out the way he did. So many storylines, lost, like tears in rain..)

It's like when the Morlock massacre first happened. It was just such a waste of potential stories. And it's the same problem I had with M-day... Sure, short term, it gives you a story or two, but in the longterm, it takes away soo much more than it could ever hope to add.

I see it not so much as a loss but as a transformation. The stories are still out there, but like with X-Factor, they are now the stories of how people responded to a calamity.

I'd like to see that storyline. For a while it looked like Genosha was going to get rebuilt, but then Decimation, and then The Collective, and then kind of nothing. It sort of seemed like there was a hands-off policy regarding Genosha. It got mentioned a few times in X-men storylines (mostly by Emma Frost), but no detail, no idea if people still lived there after The Collective thing with Xorneto.

The Necrosha storyline supposedly includes a bunch of Genoshans getting resurrected, but I haven't read it yet, as I trade-wait. I'd guess they re-die, leaving individuals important to us around.

Genosha shows up in Son of M, where Magneto, Callisto, Gateway, and a few other depowered mutants are living among the wreckage. Later, it shows up in Young Avengers Presents as completely depopulated when Billy and Tommy search there for Wanda.

Underneath his 10 cubic tonnes of issues, I suspect he's a German engineer: he loves building things that last. He's tried being a ubermesch, but found the solitary life that goes with it doesn't really suit him. Everytime he tries to be a hermit, he ends up going a little nuts.
