It was a boring month until this weekend. This weekend was a rollercoaster.
I'm still pregnant.
My appetite is a little pickier than usual. Pork, fish, and occasionally eggs don't appeal unless they're cooked exactly right. Chicken, cheese and the occasionally bite of beef are still tops though. Still sleepy all the time.
The fetus is big enough that I can tell something is definitely down there. That also means it's big enough to start pressing on a very intimate bit of my anatomy.
In short, I'm hornier than a 30-point buck.
All the damn time.
This condition is quite enjoyable when they're aren't small children underfoot all the time. But guess what I've got? Under these circumstances it's just frustrating. OTOH, I could write some wicked good porn right now, if I could just wake up long enough. Write me porn, people, I'm begging you! :-P
It's Spring Sewing Season!
Just like their Mommy when she was a little girl, my daughters developed wasp waists and full hips at age six. Unlike their Mommy, I don't want them to experience excrutiating back pain for the next 9 years thanks to wearing clothes made for children with skinny hips. So it's time to start sewing their summer play clothes. And then some maternity/nursing clothes for me, because I don't fit any better in commercial clothes now than I did then. That's me, never anywhere near "average".
Oh, and the bobbin winder is out.
Our oldest dog died Friday night.
He was 14 years old, and from the first litter of our one female dog. He was half Lhasa, half Golden-with-a-smidge-of-sheepdog. My husband held him within a minute after he was born, and used his fingernails to pick off the caul. They bonded instantly. When the girls were babies, he would lay down next to them for their nap and bark to let me know if they rolled near the edge. He was so beautiful as a puppy he was once stolen by a rather dumb thief. We figured out who took him and got him bakc. He had gone blind a couple of years ago, but he still got around all right until last week when he started to go down. He died peacefully in his sleep of old age by the foot of our bed, surrounded by the humans and younger dogs who loved him. A body can't expect more than that.
They want a what?
Some projects we've nursed along for years look like they might take off soon. This weekend one of them may have hit turbo boost. If anything comes from it I'll tell you more next month. However, it looks like I'm going to be insanely busy until mid-July, which is when the baby is due. After that, I'll be even more insanely busy. The upshot is that I now have less time at the computer than before. So, much as I hate to say it, don't hold your breath on my finishing anything soon. And I may take a while to respond to your comments. Sorry about that. :(
It never rains but it pours.
Yesterday, in the middle of dealing with everything else, our clothes dryer broke down. The problem isn't a switch, but something deep inside the machine. So I'm back to using the clothes line.
Did I mention it's the middle of the spring rainy season? And there isn't a dry day scheduled for weeks?
So that's me, still trying to catch my breath from the Weekend of Surprises.
