Because if they put in everything real life demands of pressure-cooker working environments, every minute of every episode would be made up of rows, reconciliations, back-stabbing and sex. We'd never see an alien at all! ;)

So overall pretty authentic! (And this is what Torchwood Three manages with 5 people. Imagine what went on in the Torchwood Tower?! It's amazing they ever found time to run the Ghost Shift.)

Did the emotion-viewer in "Ghost Machine" only deal with fear? If it could be reset to different emotions - and I suspect it could - just think of the possibilities!
