Having worked in several university offices, oh believe you me, the Admin secretaries know where the bodies are buried and who really signs the checks. And they are the last person in the entire university system you want mad at you.
I'm loving this series to bits and pieces. The characterization is spot on, people just *sound* like themselves.
I like your Owen - he is as bad as Owen on the show but not TEH DEVIL as he's sometimes written. Asking the worst POSSIBLE questions in the guise of writing a profile! I had to laugh at the whole "when does Jack sleep" thing.
Jack's quarters - WOW!!!! SPACE SHUTTLE!!! That just pleases the hell out of me.
I have a good idea why Jack doesn't have any science fiction in his collection: HE DOESN'T NEED TO READ IT, HE LIVES IT! (snrk) And that could well go for porn as well, oh god, searching Jack's room, yet another opportunity to embarrass Ianto.
I can't get enough of this. :-)

The great thing about the Torchwood characters is that their vices are the flip side of their virtues. The same drive that makes Owen a great investigator also makes him an abrasive cad. He doesn't know how to turn it off.

And Ianto's ability to appear calm in almost any situation also makes him able to do things like hide Lisa in the basement for months.
