Monday Night.
I've just taken a long, hot bath/shower.
Drove back from Vermont this afternoon/evening in a Nor'Easter. Six and a half hours of on-again-off-again pelting rain. NewYorkStateThruway and TractorTrailers and GinormousTwoLaneWide Puddles, oh my! O.o
The drive home aside, it was a good, long work weekend. Sat/Sun were both hot and sunny, which made it relatively easy to get a lot done. Among other things, we sledged 3.5ish-foot metal tent spikes into the ground, til about just 5-6 inches remained at an angle aboveground. I managed to spare my shins any damage, but my shoulders and back are a little annoyed with me. D gave me a good backrub, howeva, and B gave me some arnica. We had ceremony Saturday before dinner, too, so I got to sweat out some toxins, hold a space, focus some prayer. Everyone there also took time(s) over the weekend to wade in the amazing, COLD, running waterfall-y stream not far from camp. Sweetness.
I'm still sore, though. It's mostly a good sore, but...woooo.
Cayenne pepper, by the way: StillVeryGood. Motrin: AlsoVeryGood. Water: Priceless (well, yes).
I got home, meandered around a bit outside to re-uncramp my muscles and catch up on happenings back here while I've been gone. J's added some new handcarved woodwork down by the new dock. This weekend's addition is a bench, secured into what used to be the footings of the old dock. Attention to detail around the shaped edges as usual. Gorgeous. I didn't get to sit there yet on account of IT'S SOAKED, but me-oh-my-oh it's lovely. I came back inside, unpacked, and checked my email before heading off for my much-needed hot bath. TheNephew had sent a response to my recent family Endo/Insurance email update.
His email started with the full lyric-and-annotation of MP's Always Look on the Bright Side of Life. Then: "Not only are laughing your ass off right now, but you probably actually sang the whole damn song didn't you? I love you and support you. And just know, the force is strong with you, Endo Mitri Osis, but you are not a Jedi yet."
