The clouds break...
I called Dave at Pokemon this morning at 9:30 to try to set up a second interview. Since Dave had been in Hawaii all last week, I figured he'd have a ton of email and phone messages to get to. I left my cell number in case my home line was busy (stupid dial-up).
The family and I had just walked into the grocery store to do a little shopping when my cell phone rang. I didn't recognize the number but I answered it anyway. Here's a quick summary of the conversation:
"Hey, Mike, it's Dave. How's it going?"
"Not bad. Yourself?"
"Pretty good. So, I got this message from you saying that you wanted to set up a second interview."
"Yeah."
"Well, I was thinking that maybe you could just start on Monday, instead. How does that sound?"
*HAPPY DANCE* "Yeah, I suppose that would work." *HAPPY DANCE*
So, starting Monday, I've got a job. Once again, BIG, HUGE props to Shteevie for passing my name/resume along to his boss. I take back all of the bad things I've ever said about him. ;)
