Nevada sucks. Utah really sucks. Wyoming sucks. And Nebraska sucks. I have yet to form an opinion on Iowa and Illinois.
In case anyone missed the news flash, my sissy and I are on a road trip to Chicago to visit family. We drove 700 miles yesterday, and 700 miles today. Tomorrow is another 700. The point of this trip is mostly to visit family. Family that I haven't seen in ten years. Nicki got to see them last summer. I almost didn't want to go on the trip, but I'm glad I did. We're having a great time so far. In case anyone has not been through Utah, it looks like there's snow on the ground, even in 100+ degree weather. It's sand and salt. At least that's the only thing that makes sense; if anyone knows the real answer, please inform me. But people have written things with dark colored rocks in the salt. I saw a few hearts, some stick figures, a penis. It was pretty exciting. We got a picture of the scenery in Nebraska. There is nothing. But there is even more nothing in Wyoming.
Oh, and if anyone was unaware that my sister is the downs syndrome child with ADD (not really, but I swear she acts it) driving with her has just become a ton more entertaining. The bumps along the side of the road - ya know, to keep you awake if you accidentally swerve - are turtles. I think many of you are aware of this. The dashed white line in between the lanes are now penguins. (I have no idea... ask her) and to keep her at a consistent speed, at least when we first got going, I told her to follow a rabbit. Some of you might also be familiar with that term (for those of you who aren't, it's like the dog races... the greyhound follows the rabbit). This rabbit (a black VW, I think) kept her occupied enough to keep her attention for a full 45 min before he got off. And she got all excited by the idea of having someone to follow that she started chanting "Bunny! Bunny! Bunny!" It was quite amusing. Ask her about it.
It is only 9ish CA time... right now it is just after 11 and it feels like midnight. I've had a long day, and there are several long days ahead. So I bid you farewell and will try and post about the rest of the trip!
