I love Against Me! so much :]. Listening to them makes me want to cry sometimes...I just have so many memories attached to simply driving around listening to them. I always think of the metro parks, fall weather, being outside, being with my friends, singing "Sink, Florida, Sink" on the drum line bus, screaming the words in the cold parking lot of North Olmsted High School after OBOBA, throwing candy corn around the bus stop hut, driving my mom's mini van before we got my Camry, singing with Kristen and sometimes Mara on the field during marching band practice and Tony telling us we listened to weird music, driving down to BG with my parents and them telling me that AM! swore too much, my 18th birthday, sending a ton of their songs to Max when we first started talking, connecting vicariously through the music... Ah! When I listen to them, I'm just filled with overwhelming emotion, and I love it. I think Against Me! will always remind me of my late teen years and the simple memories attached to my friends and the things that we did. I love this band. I love my friends, despite how much or how little we get to talk these days. I wish I could relive those times over and over...some of my most feel-good memories are linked to this band.
