Haven't really posted in a long time, but then there's not realy much happening at my end.... Up until last weekend, that is :-))
Saw Bauhaus on Friday night @ Brixton Academy and was totally TOTALLY blown away. I think this was the best gig I ever had the honour to attend!! Absolutely fantastic! And, you'll heed these words when having read the next paragraph, very hard to top....
On Saturday, Michael & were off to Amsterdam to see Covenant. Looking back, it was fun going to there (I've never been), but, honestly, I'd never go there again as there's absolutely nothing to see or do. Thanks to the generally dopey atmosphere there (now there's a surprise, but it is actually very hard to describe), everything just verges on the absolute ludicrous: signposting, stripey police cars, goths (OMG!!!), the Covenant gig....
Coventant played to about 200 people in this club venue and I was really thrilled to make it right to the stage and enjoy myself there - something I'd never dreamt of. Wow, was I excited!! Enter Eskil and co., and with them the bummer came.... I really can't find any words: Michael & I just looked at each other and both said: we didn't pay any money to see THIS, did we? That guy seriously needs to consider rehab - and that's what Michael said (!!!). Okay, they pulled it off and the show was OK (despite Eskli losing his voice at the end), but looking closely, he cut a tragic figure (at best) and I felt really sorry to see his potential wasted like this.
Let's just hope this was the Amsterdam effect...
