Welcome, Kara!

I just got home from the hospital visiting the Dayani's. All three of them.

I walked in and immediately ran to my hetero life mate, scooped her up in a gentle hug, and smiled at Dary holding their beloved daughter. Kara is perfect. Absolutely perfect. He handed her off, and warned me she'd been fussing a lot this morning, and after a few wails and lots of rocking and humming, this sweet, lovely girl with Dary's dark hair and Paige's lips went to sleep in my arms. I felt like a superhero, and my heart swelled and is still swelling.

I got a few precious moments alone with the new family before more excited visitors arrived, and we talked softly and Paige and I tried not to cry. I got to hear the whole wonderful tale, and I was more moved by the arrival of this little girl than anything. I did my best not to cry but seeing her up close, getting to hold her and reach out and grab Paige's hand...it was an amazing moment and one that will remain imprinted on my memory forever. I am so so so so grateful that Kara arrived before I have to depart San Diego. Thank you little darling, your Auntie definitely owes you one.

I took about 30 crappy cameraphone pics, and will probably upload them once I get to the airport.

Welcome to the world little one. And Paige & Dary, you made a beautiful and lovely little girl.
