my computer is a big part of my life. i dont like it but its true. after many months of a fucked up windows registry. i finally got my hands on a copy of xp pro 64 bit. when i install it, it always fails to copy pro_reg4.swf which is just part of the windows opening animation, which to me says that i may have a bad dvd drive. apparently some people online are saying that this is caused by bad ram. anyways, during the installation process i always blue screen and restart and have to start over again.
this says to me that i have some random bad component. might be ram, motherboard, or harddrive. there is no reason for any of those to be bad. when i did eventually get an uncrashed install, i then installed all the windows updates including service pack 2 and i registered and activated it. on restart, windows would not load. this suggests to me that i bought a bad copy of xp off the internet. so in all, i have a an unknown bad compnent, and a bad copy of windows. life sucks. and im too poor to fix it.
