Last night was FSNI, and I worked on two stitchery projects. First, I advanced my first CQ journal page for the project:
I hope we will someday see the sunshine again, and I can get a picture in natural sunlight, but for now, this is it. I added the green floral ribbon and attached it first with beads down the middle and then with more Fly Stitches on one side. I added a buttonhole seam from week two, embellished with lazy daisy stitches (single chain stitch) then lavender glass beads and gold cupped flower sequins. Finally, I put in two sets of feather stitching.
Feather stitch is my favorite, and you can count on seeing more on the block, and probably at least one more in buttonhole, too. The feather stitching is a type of buttonhole, really, but I like the graceful free form it can take. I haven't embellished those yet, but I still have another day on Monday before the next stitch comes out. I did a stitch sampler, too, but I haven't taken a picture of it yet. If you are having trouble finding the second feather, click to enlarge the picture, then again and again, and you should see it down in the print piece at the bottom right.
My second project was working on the November Birdie Stitches block. I have July, September and December still to go, after I finish this one. I need to search out my brown perle or use 6 strands of brown floss, but I didn't feel like looking last night, so this is as far as I went.
I also worked out borders for a quilt. Not bad for a Friday Night Sew In!
