Fly Stitch Exploration

I am so jazzed about this week' stitch fun! I looked on the internet and found a variety of variations, and then I wondered what would happen with a circle. So I took a variation and the basic stitch and made a circle I love! I know I'm going to be using this on the CQJP block and many others. It takes some time to draw it out accurately, but it is SO worth the time!

I used my circle ruler, one of those green ones from the hobby shop which has all different sizes of circles, Carole Samples' template 02 D, and a Success strip for straight lines. Sadly, when I went to damp-erase the purple lines, the Pigma line bled! I didn't think they ever did that! I'll photograph it again on my CQJP block.

I also like the closely plaited ones, with any length stem, and any depth V. The Reverse Fly Stitch intrigues me. In fact, I quite like all of them. I will be adding more than one Fly Stitch variation to my first CQJP block, I think. Unfortunately, I can't do that until Monday.

Left to Right:

Row 1: Horizontal Fly Stitch, Vertical Fly Stitch, Close Fly Stitch (2 examples)
Row 2: Plaited Fly Stitch (4 variations), Reverse Fly Stitch
Row 3: Fly Stitch over Herringbone
Row 4: Fly Stitch anchored with Lazy Daisy.
Motif: Outer Circle: Fly Stitch anchored with Lazy Daisy. Inner Circle: Fly Stitch

I'm already thinking of variations to the Motif!
