Because so much is going on in my life, both spiritually and temporally, I have not *quite* finished my embroidery on this block. However, I am putting in the
link for the design .pdf anyway.
I apologize for the smudges. They look much worse on the .pdf than they do in real life.
This is a Monarch butterfly, and for the first time, I wish I did Brazilian embroidery. It would be so pretty in all it's colors. I may try a little satin stitching for the orange color, or I may just leave well enough alone before I ruin the whole thing! The butterfly is poised on a prickley pear blossom, in honor of how much I miss my desert. I've seen many a Monarch on its way to or from Mexico, and many were doing this very thing. I know how sweet the fruit is, as I've made jelly from it many times, so I can only imagine how wonderful the nectar is.
I'll post more about both the Monarch and the prickley pear when I post the picture of my finished project. I'm using all silk threads from
Vicki Clayton, so far.
Now it's off to work, and I'm already tired before I go!
