Laddies and gentlemen...i would like to introduce you to Mr. Ales Hemsky.
In case you have no idea who this fine upstanding Canadian citizen, lets start off by saying, he is the biggest prick on the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers beat the Wings 4-3 in game 6 to eliminate detroit from the playoffs this year. Hemsky scored the 3rd and 4th goal for edmonton. The 4th goal i wont criticize at all, a breakdown on defense and a fine goal. The 3rd however should not have counted. 1 -- a highstick can not knock a puck down if it is over the cross bar, especially when it is knocked directly to your team mate...and 2 -- it is blatantly obvious that the puck was put into the net with a deliberate foward kicking motion which immediatly leads the goal to be disallowed.
Now the Wings lost, they didnt play their best series. I wont deny that. And as much as the goal is bull-shit...i wont complain any longer. Where my issue with Mr. Hemsky comes into play was during the press conference afterwards.
When asked by a reporter what his thoughts were on the controversial goal, Mr. Hemsky replied by saying some of the sort -- a goal is a goal. im a professional hockey player with tons of talent, and just because i put a puck in the net does not give anyone the right to criticize it -- the reporter then brings up the correct point that she is not criticizing it...just pointing out that the referees had to review the goal for quite some time to decide if it counted. Mr. Hemsky replies -- stop trying to make it out to be something its not...a goal is a goal, just let it go. the big bad wings dont always have to win...
you cocky selfish fucker...i hope someone takes a severly cheap shot at you and your career comes to a crashing end...
