Another week
This week is my last working downtown (DC) at least for now. My goal for the week is to ride from home all the way to the office (and back) at least once. That's about a 17 mile ride each way. It is ambitious for me. Next week, I start working in Tysons, so I'm working on bike routes to see if I can't keep up with cycling. I have to ride at least once next week, as I committed to being 'car light' (Unless my wife drives all the kids -- in which case I can be car free!)
In the 'good news' category, the folks at Oasis Bike Works got the Tommaso back on the road, and for less than their estimated price -- this included a host of minor adjustments, and replacing the crank with a compact unit, more suited to my casual riding self (I was really unhappy pushing a 42/22 as my easiest ratio!) I haven't had an opportunity to take her for a longer ride, but in some quick laps around the neighborhood (including some short climbs) she seemed most willing. Here's hoping I get a chance to take her out this weekend and put her through her paces for real.
The Prius steering seems to be holding together for now.
