Toaster Etiquette

People need better toaster etiquette.

Such as: If you put a bagel on the toaster, don't walk away to talk to your friends. This makes me have to reach way up the slot to grab my toast, which is conveniently burning behind your bagel.

I'm willing to deal with that even if it bugs me, but here's the REAL clincher: When you see me reach for my toast (still burning in the toaster behind your bagel), don't proceed to THROW AWAY YOUR BAGEL because my sleeve MIGHT have rubbed across it. I do NOT have the plague and somewhere in the world a kid really wanted that bagel because he hasn't eaten in a few days.

You, bagel-girl-from-lunch-yest
erday, are inconsiderate and have a sense of entitlement that defies me. The toaster is not YOUR toaster -- it is a shared toaster. That first bagel, however, WAS YOUR BAGEL, and yours alone. And now it's in the trash. What a waste. (I'm not talking about the bagel, either).
