IBM 1401

Apr 13, 2008 00:18

I heard a beautiful, if mildly odd, piece of classical music tonight on WNYC.  It's by a Icelandic composer named Jóhann Jóhannsson, and it's called "IBM 1401 - A User's Manual".  It's reminiscent of Adagio for Strings, but feels warmer.  The first part is like an elegy for a dying computer.  It's a fitting way to end today.

Time to sleep. DJing at 3 am!
